Terms, Conditions & Warranty Policy
Terms, Conditions & Warranty Policy
This document outlines the complete Terms and Conditions and the Solar Installation & Roofing Warranty Policy for SureTek Electric & Technologies Ltd. (“SureTek”). By accepting an estimate, scheduling work, or paying any invoice, the client agrees to all provisions outlined below.
SECTION A: Estimate Validity Terms
- Validity Period Estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise noted. SureTek reserves the right to revise or withdraw an estimate at any time.
- Scope of Work The estimate includes only explicitly listed items. Additional work requires written approval and may incur additional costs.
- Price Adjustments Prices may be adjusted due to unforeseen conditions, material changes, or updated code requirements.
- Compliance with Codes & Standards All work complies with current local, provincial, and national safety codes. Changes to requirements after estimate issuance may affect scope or cost.
- Scheduling and Payment Method A credit card may be requested to securely schedule the work. SureTek will store the payment details as an authorized payment method only. No charge will be processed until the work is completed and the final invoice is issued. The customer will receive notice before any charge is processed. SureTek does not take deposits or any advance payments.
- Liability for Pre-Existing Conditions SureTek is not responsible for issues related to pre-existing conditions, workmanship by others, or hidden defects.
- Acceptance and Contract Formation By accepting the estimate (whether by clicking “Accept” in the SureTek customer portal, providing verbal approval by telephone, approving on site after reviewing the estimate and these Terms, replying to email, scheduling the work, submitting payment, or proceeding with any services), the Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. Any form of acceptance creates a binding contract. The Customer acknowledges that they have been given a reasonable opportunity to review the estimate and these Terms before acceptance.
- Emergency / After-Hours / Urgent Service Pricing Any service call that is responded to, called out to, performed, or scheduled outside normal business hours (Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) is considered an urgent, emergency, or abnormal-hours service, regardless of SureTek’s stated hours of operation. In your market, other contractors or providers may offer cheaper options for standard, non-urgent, daytime work. The quoted price for this emergency-level service therefore reflects the urgent nature of the request, including the time of dispatch, technician arrival, on-site diagnosis, immediate mobilization, overtime labour, and the fact that SureTek is the first responder assuming the full risk of the call. SureTek will not charge more than the quoted amount without a reason that is compliant with these Terms. By requesting and agreeing to immediate or urgent service and by accepting this estimate (whether by portal click, phone, on-site review, email reply, scheduling the work, or proceeding with any services), the Customer acknowledges that they may be able to obtain a lower price or alternate estimates from other providers for non-urgent, standard daytime work. However, by choosing SureTek to respond immediately and perform the work on an urgent or emergency basis, the Customer accepts the quoted price as fair and reasonable given the circumstances and waives any future claim that the price was excessive or not acceptable.
SECTION B: Job Terms & Conditions
- Scope of Work Work is based on the approved estimate or signed job description. Changes must be approved in writing.
- Compliance, Permits & Inspections SureTek will obtain required electrical permits unless otherwise stated. If a permit is not listed in the estimate, it is assumed not required. Clients acknowledge that scope may change, and additional permits may be required. The permit fees quoted in the estimate include the direct cost of the permit plus SureTek’s administrative, clerical, scheduling, documentation, and facilitation services. The customer agrees to pay the permit amount as quoted on the estimate, regardless of the actual government fee charged by the authority. SureTek is not liable for non-CEC requirements or for local planning/building codes. SureTek generally does not attend inspections unless the inspection is required while work is actively being performed on site. In most cases, inspections are scheduled after the work is fully completed, and SureTek will not be present. The customer is responsible for ensuring the inspector has full and safe access to the site at the scheduled time. Any re-inspection fees or additional costs incurred by SureTek due to missed appointments, lack of access, pets, safety issues, or any other conditions within the customer’s control will be charged to the customer as a pass-through cost.
- Payment Terms All invoices are due upon receipt unless otherwise agreed. Overdue balances are subject to 3% monthly interest (36% annually). SureTek may store payment details provided at estimate acceptance or to schedule work. Clients authorize SureTek to charge the stored payment method for: remaining balances, overdue invoices, or re-inspection/late fees. Providing a payment method constitutes express consent. Notice will be given before charging. No deposit or advance payment is taken; the stored credit card is charged only after the work is completed.
- Installation Risks & Damage SureTek takes reasonable care but is not responsible for drywall, insulation, or cosmetic issues unless stated.
- General Warranty (Non-Solar) 1-year labour warranty on non-solar electrical and contracting work.
- Material Responsibility Client assumes responsibility for materials upon delivery. SureTek is not liable for theft or damage post-delivery.
- Site Access The customer is responsible for ensuring the work site is fully accessible to SureTek’s technician at the scheduled appointment time. If the technician arrives and is unable to gain access, SureTek will attempt to contact the customer to resolve the issue. However, any waiting time incurred by the technician due to lack of access may result in additional idle time charges. If the appointment must be rescheduled or cancelled, the customer must provide at least one full business day’s notice. Failure to provide such notice may result in a $99 cancellation or rescheduling fee.
- Insurance & Liability SureTek carries liability insurance. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
- Work by Others SureTek is not responsible for prior work. Any related corrections are billable.
- Scope Changes & Adjustments Scope and cost may change with site conditions or client requests.
- Dispute Resolution Disputes will be resolved through communication or mediation.
- Termination and Cancellation SureTek may terminate the contract for safety reasons or material breach by the Customer. If the Customer cancels after acceptance has been received and/or work has commenced, the Customer shall pay for: (a) all work completed, (b) materials purchased or ordered (including restocking fees), (c) reasonable diagnostic, mobilization, travel, and administrative costs incurred up to the date of cancellation, and (d) any re-inspection or other fees. No full refund will be issued once work has begun or materials have been ordered.
- Entire Agreement and No Verbal Modifications This estimate (including these Terms and Conditions) constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. No verbal statements, on-site discussions, or other representations shall modify or add to the agreement. All changes must be agreed to in writing.
- Builders’ Lien Act In accordance with Alberta’s Builders’ Lien Act, SureTek may register a lien against the property for any unpaid amounts. The Customer agrees to cooperate with any required documentation.
- Force Majeure SureTek is not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, utility outages, supply chain disruptions, labour disputes, or government orders.

- Roof Removal & Reinstallation Panel removal/reinstall due to roofing work is billable unless due to warranty failure.

- Warranty Exclusions Excludes acts of nature, misuse, third-party modifications, pre-existing damage.
- Governing Law This agreement is governed by Alberta law.
- Structural & Building Code Disclaimer SureTek does not evaluate structural or load capacity. If a building permit is denied due to structural limits, SureTek is not liable. Roof condition assessments are not included unless specifically contracted.
